Middle East conflict: Spain closes airspace to US planes involved in Iran strikes; minister reiterates anti-war stance
Reacting to how this latest decision by Madrid could impact the US-Spain ties, its Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo noted that the decision to shut airspace is keeping in line with the previous decision made by the government, which was not to participate in or contribute to a war, which it believes is. Speaking to reporters, Madrid's Defence Minister Margarita Robles said, "We don't authorise either the use of military bases or the use of airspace for actions related to the war in Iran." Spanish newspaper El País, citing the military sources, reported the closure of the airspace first.

More than 85,000 cases disposed of in Chamarajanagar during this year’s Mega Lok Adalat
This year’s Lok Adalat disposed of 300 more cases than the previous Lok Adalat, and the amount of money recovered was also about ₹6 crore more than the amount recovered by the previous Lok Adalat. The district judge said ₹20.68 crore was recovered during the Lok Adalat, including ₹12.89 crore recovered from court cases and ₹7.79 crore from pre-litigation cases. Out of the 2,950 court cases which were disposed of during the Lok Adalat this time, 661 cases were filed before the court in Chamarajanagar, 327 in Yelandur, 1,270 in Kollegal, and 692 in Gundlupet.

| Photo Credit: File photo Officials of the Karnataka Lokayukta caught a senior Commercial Tax officer red-handed while allegedly taking a bribe of ₹6 lakh from a businessman. The accused officer, Bharath Kumar Hegde (48), serving as Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (GST) in Hubballi, had allegedly demanded ₹10 lakh to settle an adjudication related to an inspection report, which had flagged tax evasion of approximately ₹60 lakh. Acting on the complaint, Lokayukta officials apprehended Hegde while he was allegedly taking the bribe amount.
