But he said the case also had deep roots – “all the way to the Magna Carta in England and the Charter of the Forest from 1271 ”- which granted rights to common people to use the forests. But the ban seemed to defy commonsense definitions.” Last week, that same judge found the controversial ban wasn’t just confounding, it also violated Canada’s charter of rights and freedoms. “Being told to stay out of the ‘woods’ made some sense to people who thought they knew what the woods are,” he wrote.

Seven dead in major Russian attack on Ukraine
In Yekaterinburg, almost 1,000 miles (1,600km) from Ukraine's border, the governor said six people were injured when a building was struck - while in nearby Chelyabinsk, a local leader said drones targeting an industrial facility were intercepted. It said British jets "did not enter Ukrainian airspace", and "no drones were shot down by the aircraft, because the drones did not breach Romanian airspace". Ukrainian authorities said they repelled the vast majority of the more than 600 Russian drones, which appears to have been the largest attack in several days.
