One dead, another person critically injured in Sunnyside apartment fire; firefighter injured
An apartment fire in Sunnyside, Queens, resulted in one fatality and left another person critically injured early Monday morning. The fire, which began on the second floor of a large apartment building on 40th Street, spread to the third floor. A firefighter was also injured while responding to the blaze and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Push to add fifth firefighter on engines in NYC to speed up fire response times
