Charges dismissed against official at school where six-year-old shot teacher
A judge in Virginia has dismissed all charges against former assistant principal Ebony Parker, who faced felony child abuse charges related to a shooting incident at Richneck Elementary School in January 2023. The charges were dismissed after the defense argued that the state did not present sufficient evidence to support the claims that Parker ignored warnings about a student possessing a firearm. The incident involved a six-year-old student who shot teacher Abigail Zwerner, resulting in her requiring surgery and subsequently filing a lawsuit against Parker, which was settled for $10 million.

US is ‘simply choosing not to stop’ Ebola outbreak after large public health cuts, experts say
