CDC to tap $107m in emergency funding for Ebola response in DRC and Uganda
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is allocating $107 million in emergency funding to address the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda. As of now, there are nearly 1,000 confirmed cases across 31 health zones in DRC, with 31 cases reported in Kampala, Uganda.

Parents of Serbia's teenage school shooter given jail terms in retrial

Thirty-five killed as gunmen attack Niger's biggest airport
A gunman attack at Diori Hamani international airport in Niamey, Niger, resulted in 35 fatalities, including 22 attackers, 11 soldiers, and 2 civilians. The assault occurred shortly after morning prayers, and the Al-Qaeda affiliate Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin claimed responsibility.
