2 Toronto-area synagogues struck by gunfire overnight
Police responded to gunfire at synagogues in Toronto and Thornhill around 11:49 p.m. on March 7. No injuries were reported. Toronto Police and York Regional Police are investigating and have increased presence at places of worship. Authorities are seeking information, video, or dash camera footage from the public.

One of two suspects in North York shooting death arrested after extradition from Jamaica
Debbie Jones, 42, was extradited from Jamaica and arrested on March 6, charged with second-degree murder in the September 30, 2024 shooting death of Anthony McBean, 42, at a plaza near Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue West in North York. Co-suspect Ricardo Manuel Bailey, 35, remains at large in Jamaica.
