Bill to help authorities probe online activities raises widespread privacy fears

Critics argue that the legislation could infringe on privacy rights and expand police powers unnecessarily, while the government maintains that it is designed to protect Canadians and is consistent with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The bill is currently under review by a House of Commons committee, with concerns raised about its implications for privacy and data security.
